Thorbs are spiky pumpkin-likeenemies that appear exclusively inMario & Luigi: Dream Team, being an introductory enemy to using hammers. Thorbs appear commonly inMushrise Park.
In the field, if a Thorb noticesMario andLuigi, it rattles while pointing its spikes at them. Thorbs do not move while doing this.
In battle, Thorbs compress themselves down and spiral into Mario and Luigi in a clockwise or counter-clockwise pattern once, who mustjump over them when they get near them in order to avoid taking damage. They also approach a Bro., and run at them with their spikes pointed at them, much likeCapnaps. The targeted Bro. musthammer the Thorb when it gets within range to counter-attack and avoid taking damage.
Being spiky, it takes no damage from jump attacks; jumping on it will deal 1 point of damage to Mario or Luigi.
Two Thorbs are seen harassing aToad; Mario and Luigi must battle them. This battle serves as a tutorial for hammer attacks.
Although no Thorbs themselves appears inMario & Luigi: Brothership, a blue variety called theSpikely is introduced.
