TheThirteen Mushroom Colonies are a country formerly ruled byKing Koopa and theKoopa Pack inThe Super Mario Bros. Super Show! episode "The Koopas are Coming! The Koopas are Coming!". It is a snowy country that the revolutionary army ofToads live in. In the episode,General George Washingtoad is fighting a war againstRedcoat Koopa to gain independence from him. With the help ofMario,Luigi,Toad, andPrincess Toadstool, Washingtoad and his army defeat Redcoat Koopa, and build their own country, which Mario and Luigi are official "uncles" of. The land is a reference tothe original thirteen colonies that became theUnited States of America.
