The Curious Factory is the first level of theRuby Passage inWario Land 4. It is a labyrinth of a factory with robot-like enemies and manypistons andDecompressors, which turnWario intoFlat Wario and back to normal, respectively. Much of the flooring and platforms in the level are made up ofconveyor belts. The enemyTogerobo is exclusive to this level. This level also features the first appearance ofKaentsubo, which can transform Wario intoFlaming Wario, allowing him to breakBonfire Blocks. Hitting theswitch will open up the underground area of the level. This level'sCD is calledDriftwood & the Island Dog and once collected, it can be played in theSound Room. The level's background music can be found in theWarioWare, Inc.: Mega Microgame$!microgamePaper Plane without the machinery sounds.
The time given to escape the level after hitting theswitch varies betweengame modes, including 3:30 in Normal mode, 2:50 in Hard, and 2:30 in S-Hard.
