ATail Goomba,[1] also referred to asTanooki Goomba,[1] is aGoomba with atail that only appears inSuper Mario 3D Land. Its powers were given byBowser with hisSuper Leaves, as shown in one of theletters Mario receives during the game's story.
History[edit]
Super Mario 3D Land[edit]
Tail Goombas attack likeTanooki Mario by jumping into the air and fluttering down to the ground slowly, performing a tail whip when they land. They can be defeated like normal Goombas. In some levels, Tail Goombas jump into the air towardsMario, trying to catch him with a tail whip. There are alsoBig Tail Goombas, larger variants of Tail Goombas. Pre-release material also featuredgolden variants of Tail Goombas. They attacked in the same manner as the normal variants, but flew further.
Defeating a Tail Goomba gives the player onecoin, but some may drop a Super Leaf instead.
Mario Golf: World Tour[edit]
InMario Golf: World Tour, Hole 13 ofMario's Star depicts four Goombas, three of which are in aGoomba Tower, and a Tail Goomba. Additionally, "Tail Goomba" is one of the names that can appear on the tournament scoreboard.
