"Switch On!"[1] is a recurring musical theme that appears in theNew Super Mario Bros. series when aP Switch or? Switch is hit. The theme is composed of two parts; the second part of the theme repeats if the P Switch timer is extended in some way.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii[edit]
An updated version of "Switch On!" appears inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii with slightly different instrumentation. This version would be reused inNew Super Mario Bros. 2 (with an additional tick-tock sound added),New Super Mario Bros. U,New Super Luigi U,New Super Mario Bros. U + New Super Luigi U andNew Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe as well as in theNew Super Mario Bros. U style ofSuper Mario Maker,Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, andSuper Mario Maker 2. TheSuper Mario 3D World style of the latter game also uses this theme, asSuper Mario 3D World does not have its own P Switch music.
On theGolden Plains stage inSuper Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS andSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, hitting aP Switch plays this arrangement of the theme as well as the corresponding sound effects fromNew Super Mario Bros. 2.
