Swing Kings is a 4-Player and Duelminigame inMario Party 8. One board minigame inMario Party 7 is extremely similar, being playable only onNeon Heights.

Swing Kings is one of the minigames fromMario Party 8 ported to the Japan-only arcade gameMario Party Fushigi no Korokoro Catcher. Here, it is a Bonus Chance Game.

Overview[edit]

The introduction to Swing Kings

In the introduction, the camera is zoomed in on the first player, who is standing on home plate with aShy Guy beside a basket of baseballs. The screen then splits into multiple screens, one for each player, and the minigame begins.

A Shy Guy throws a baseball at the character, and the player has to swing and hit the ball. Occasionally, the Shy Guy throws a ball higher or lower than normal. The Shy Guys throw 20 balls at each player; after all the balls have been tossed, the minigame ends. The player(s) who hit(s) the most baseballs win(s) the minigame. In the 4-Player variant, it is possible for there not to be a loser. If no one gets any points or if both players tie in the Duel variant, a tie occurs. If both players break the current record with the same score in the Duel variant, it counts as a new record even though neither player won. This also applies toSaucer Swarm.

Toadette wins whileWario collects the baseballs.

In the ending, winning characters perform their winning poses in the middle of the baseball field, while in the background the losing players run around the field, collecting the baseballs and tossing them into a bucket. If the results screen remains in Party Mode, the losers eventually finish picking up all the balls and just stand in their idle animation.

Test for the Best[edit]

InTest for the Best, the player is alone and must hit as many of the balls as possible in 20 pitches, with the player earning 50 points for their score for each ball hit. The scores required to earn a certain point total are as follows:
