TheSweet Sweet Galaxy, originally known as theCookie Factory Galaxy,[1] is an unlockablegalaxy inSuper Mario Galaxy. It appears after theHungry Luma next to theTerrace has been fed 400Star Bits, although Mario would need seven Star Bits in his possession in order to summon the Hungry Luma. It features moving platforms with cookie-cutter-shaped holes in them and appears to be made up primarily of titanic sweets and desserts. It takes place in the atmosphere of a planet and haselectric rails to pose as threats. This galaxy is one of very few galaxies that has no enemies at all. Utensils and orbs that resemble candy float around the main planets. The music for the galaxy is an arrangement of the athletic theme fromSuper Mario Bros. 3. The music is also reused as the athletic theme inSuper Mario 3D Land.
This galaxy was intended as a flashback to the mechanics of pastSuper Mario games to remind long-term fans that the unorthodoxSuper Mario Galaxy is still a part of the series.[2]
Planets/Areas[edit]
Hole Belt Conveyer Planet[edit]
TheHole Belt Conveyer Planet[3] is a large planet that takes up a majority of the galaxy.Mario starts off on a what appears to be a sweet cube. There are platforms ahead moving toward him with holes in them of different sizes and shapes, mostly circles and triangles. They appear to be flavored depending on the colors, such as chocolate, strawberry, lemon, and blueberry. There are two electric fences on the way Mario must avoid, as well as a fewcoins along the way he can collect. At the end is a turn over a large block of mint chocolate chip. The screen then turns to reveal another moving platform section with horizontally moving platforms with shapes such as stars and arrows. In this section, there are alsoStar Bits stuck to the walls that are up for grabs. At the end of this section, Mario encounters two members of theToad Brigade who encourage him to keep going.
The next section is made up of one large, shifting chocolate disk with geometric holes such as moons, squares, and pentagons, with acheckpoint at the start. There is a1-Up Mushroom halfway through the tunnel Mario can easily collect. There are then a few more platforms Mario must traverse, with electric fences in the middle and rings of Star Bits floating nearby. These platforms lead to a large, three-layer cake. The bottom row is lemon, the middle row is mint chocolate chip with Star Bit sprinkles, and the top layer is strawberry with raspberries. ThePower Star is right in the center. Additionally, aStarshroom can be seen in the background.
Hole Belt Conveyer Parts[edit]
TheHole Belt Conveyer Parts[4] are the moving, cookie-cutterlifts that Mario must traverse through. They appear to be in different flavors depending on their colors, with holes of geometric shapes such as hearts, moons, circles, triangles, and more.
Cake-shaped planet[edit]
A large, three-layer cake with thePower Star on top serves as the end of the Galaxy, with a ring of gumdrops that turn intoStar Bits upon spinning inside it.Yellow Toad can be found on the cake's middle layer, along with a ring of Star Bits. A Starshroom is seen in the background. The cake is divided into layers of lemon, chocolate mint, and strawberry.
Utensil-shaped planets[edit]
As Mario traverses the Sweet Sweet Galaxy, forks and a spoon can be seen in the background, though they are unreachable.
