Suu[1][2] areJoro-spider–like enemies introduced inSuper Mario Land. They are most often seen hanging on a thread from the ceiling.

History[edit]

Super Mario Land[edit]

In their debut appearance, Suu drop from the ceiling, then immediately move back upwards slowly upon touching the floor. They can be defeated either with astomp or twoSuperballs, rewarding 400points either way. Suu appear only inWorld 3-2.Bigbees fromSuper Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins act like a stronger version of Suu. Additionally, a recurring spider enemy namedScuttlebug later uses string and shares a yellow-striped pattern on its abdomen.

Super Mario Kodansha manga[edit]

In theSuper Mario Kodansha manga, Suu appear with Kumos in the Easton Kingdom, being entrusted more than the incompetent moai byTatanga, much toHiyoihoi's envy. One Suu by the name ofSue is able to change her form from spider to human and, in the latter form, pretends to help Mario, only to lure him into traps, the first of which is a Suu-infested cave. Later,Hiyoihoi, furious at both the replacement and death of his soldiers, uses aBullet Biff Gatling gun to shoot at everyone. Protecting Sue, Mario earns her gratitude and help in defeating the boss, but with his defeat, Sue disappears. InSuper Mario Land 4, a Suu is the first opponent in theQix storyline.

Super Mario-kun[edit]

InSuper Mario-kun, a singular Suu appears in the last chapter ofvolume 3 alongside otherSuper Mario Land enemies. It is seen only dangling from the ceiling.

Let's go for it where it lands

A spider monster that lives in a dark cave and descends when Mario approaches. It can be easily defeated by bringing it down to the bottom by getting close to it and stepping on it before it starts to climb up again.
