ASuper Spring[1] is an object inSuper Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels. ThisSpring launchesMario (orLuigi) offscreen, allowing the player to skip portions of alevel. Usually Super Springs are green, but in the original, they are teal inWorld 7-3 except inSuper Mario All-Stars, where they are always green, even in World 7-3. Mario falls back downward after a certain amount of time, so the player must be mindful to ensure that he does not fall into a hazard such as apit. With the right timing, dashing beforejumping onto a Super Spring also allows Mario to cover longer stretches of distance than normal. A Super Spring appears inWorld 2-1,World 3-1,World 3-3,World 7-3,World B-1,World B-3,World C-2, andWorld C-3, though theSuper Mario All-Stars version replaces all of the Super Springs inWorld B with regular Springs. World 7-3 and World C-3 use Super Springs more prominently than other levels, as each has six long gaps that are preceded by a Super Spring, mostly requiring their use to proceed.
