TheSunbaked Desert is the fourthworld inSuper Mario Bros. Wonder. It is an arid desert with white sands and a large palace which houses many levels. Some levels are mirages the player must walk close to in order to reveal, and others are covered in sand that the player must run into to remove, revealing the level. The world map contains a puzzle where the player must stand on three buttons with? Block symbols to open a door leading to anoptional level.
The entrance to this world is initially locked by aWonder Piranha, requiring 10Wonder Seeds fromPetal Isles to unlock. Upon first visit, the Sunbaked Desert is near-completely devoid of water save for a small oasis near the southwest corner of the world, owed toBowser Jr. hoarding the palace's water supply for a pool party. After clearingSunbaked Desert Palace for the first time, the castle's wells start flowing again, returning the water to the desert.
This world contains yellowWonder Flowers and Wonder Seeds, with a total of 36 Wonder Seeds and oneRoyal Seed to collect, the most Wonder Seeds out of any other world in the game.
The Sunbaked Desert contains 21 levels, aPoplinhouse, and twoPoplin Shops, one of which is hidden.
