- “Oh, I think we foundthe castle. It'sright there! But I don't know how we're going to make it past those streamers. They're weirdly strong for paper! Plus, it looks like they're coming from different places. Will we have to go all over the world to unravel them?”
- —Olivia,Paper Mario: The Origami King
Streamers are long strips of paper thatKing Olly uses to bindPeach's Castle at the beginning ofPaper Mario: The Origami King. After convertingPrincess Peach and a large portion ofBowser's Minions intoFolded Soldiers, Olly summons five streamers of different colors from different locations and wraps them around the castle, then lifts it and places it on top ofHotfoot Crater. To get to the castle and stop Olly,Mario andOlivia must follow the streamers to their sources and destroy them. Each streamer's source is a spool with Olly's insignia on it, and each spool is guarded by a member of theLegion of Stationery.
After Mario defeats the Legion of Stationery member guarding the spool, aMagic Circle spawns in front of the spool, allowing Mario to use the1,000-Fold Arms to destroy the spool and clear the corresponding streamer. Upon Mario clearing each streamer, the maximum amount ofconfetti he can carry increases.
