Stone circles[1] are clusters of interactable objects inSuper Mario Galaxy,Super Mario Galaxy 2, andSuper Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. A stone circle consists of eight small rocks arranged into a ring on the ground.Spinning within the ring transforms each of the rocks into a collectibleStar Bit. There are iterations of circles themed to thelevel's environment. In beachgalaxies, such as theBeach Bowl Galaxy andCosmic Cove Galaxy, the player can findshell circles[2] (orshell rings).[3] The cake-shaped planets in theSweet Sweet Galaxy and theToy Time Galaxy each have astrawberry circle[4] on top. On anairship inBowser Jr.'s Airship Armada, a circle is combined with avalve, where spinning it releases Star Bits from the eight vents surrounding it. Only the stone and shell circles appear in bothSuper Mario Galaxy games.
There areflowers inSuper Mario Sunshine andSuper Mario Odyssey that are similar in concept.
