Notable members

Stompoids are roboticenemies inDonkey Kong Bananza, first appearing in theCanyon Layer. They are large, mechanical monsters created byVoid Co. that comprise of a golden primate skull covered by a shell of terrain, attached to a folding metal arm that features a large foot on the opposite end. The terrain their shell is made of can vary, with certain types greatly increasing their durability.

Stompoids remain stationary untilDonkey Kong approaches them, after which they will immediately begin jumping towards him. Once they have closed the distance, they will briefly pause while shaking before jumping directly above Donkey Kong, attempting to crush him. The radius of their attack is shown as a purple square with a smaller red symbol directly under their foot before they hit the ground. To defeat a Stompoid, Donkey Kong can destroy the enemy’s foot, causing the head to fly backwards and break upon hitting the ground, revealing its golden skull that can be easily defeated. If the skull is left alone, the Stompoid will fully regenerate and continue attacking. Donkey Kong can also destroy the shell protecting the skull without first attacking the foot, which will allow him to defeat the Stompoid immediately by again attacking the weak point. Finally, some Stompoids can be defeated by allowing it to destroy the terrain below it, causing it to fall to its own demise.

In theDK Island & Emerald Rush DLC, astatue of a Stompoid can be collected and placed at the southern side of the Jungle Ruins onDK Island. AnEmerald Perk called "Stompoid Demolisher" can appear during anEmerald Rush, which increases the amount ofemerald ore that appears after defeating a Stompoid.
