Starborn Valley is the place whereStar Kids, likeTwink, are born inPaper Mario.Merlon's son,Merle lives here and, with help from a group ofNinji, raise the Star Kids before they leave forStar Haven. WhileMario and his partners visit this place, they learn from Merle that the last of theStar Spirits is being held in theCrystal Palace. To get to Starborn Valley, Mario needs to trek acrossShiver Snowfield.Frost T. as well as otherToads also lives here.

Before Mario reaches Starborn Valley,Monstar appears and fights him, but turns out to be the Star Kids in disguise, who were trying to protect the valley and did not realize who Mario was. Merle later apologizes for the trouble they caused.
