Stage 7-8 is the eighth level of theIceberg in theGame Boy version ofDonkey Kong. The level is a boss battle withDonkey Kong.

Layout[edit]

Mario starts on a platform above the water. Donkey Kong constantlyjumps and slams the ground, which causes Mario to get stunned and causes debris to fall from the sky, which Mario must avoid. Mario must jump onto the floating platforms that are going left, while constantly jumping to prevent the ice from sinking. Once the floating ice is close enough to the lowestConveyor Belt, he mustHandstand Jump orBackflip up to the Conveyor Belt. Once on the Conveyor Belt, he must jump across the Conveyor Belts, which all move right (except for the small one near the end and the one above where Mario started, which go left), until he reaches the last two Conveyor Belts, which he must jump up to. Then, he must go over toPauline to end the level with Donkey Kong taking her away again.

Cutscene after level completion[edit]

Donkey Kong is jumping across floating ice platforms. He almost loses his balance and falls into water on the third, but regains his balance and continues jumping across the ice. Mario then arrives and also jumps across the ice, but then he stands on the ice too long, causing the ice to sink. He proceeds to swim out of the water and jump onto the next ice platform and onto to the next one, then he jumps offscreen and the cutscene ends. The player is then given lives based on their score.
