Donkey Kong (Game Boy) levels

Stage 4-5 is the fifth level in theJungle in theGame Boy version ofDonkey Kong. The level features many vines and introducesDorakyū. Although they do not actually harmMario, they stun him, and may cause him to lose a life if he falls a certain distance.

Layout[edit]

To begin,Mario starts off in the bottom right with theKey Door right in front of him. However, thekey is actually located all the way up in the top left corner, requiring Mario to use severalvines and evade a few enemies to reach it. All three ofPauline's items may be found along the way. There is a1 UP Heart in the top right corner. There are also two nuts hung at the top, which Mario may release to defeat enemies they hit on the way down, usually bothKānyī, though one or twoDorakyū may also be defeated with good timing. Once Mario has the key, he may simply take it down with him, subsequently using it to unlock the Key Door to complete the level.
