Spring platforms,[1] also known asbouncing boughs[2] andspringboard platforms,[3] are objects inSuper Mario World. Theseplatforms can propel the player upwards like aJumping Board orJump Block and share the same sound effect with both. They are not free-floating platforms, but they are always attached to the side of another object, such as a wall ordaikon. Each spring platform consists of five green segments, with the attaching segment never being affected by the player's pressure. Unlike with most other springs, the closer the player is to the end of the platform, the higher they bounce uponjumping. Spring platforms are found inVanilla Secret 1,Vanilla Dome 4, andGnarly.
Spring platforms, referred to assprings,[4] also appear inYoshi's Story, specifically inThe Tall Tower. Here, they act exactly the same, but they now resemble actual springs and come in different sizes.
