Spring Mario is one ofMario's forms inSuper Mario Galaxy,Super Mario Galaxy 2, andSuper Mario Galaxy + Super Mario Galaxy 2. In both games, he is able to transform into it by collecting aSpring Mushroom. InSuper Mario Galaxy, the form first appears in theToy Time Galaxy, and later inMatter Splatter Galaxy andBeach Bowl Galaxy (only in thePurple Coin mission "Beachcombing for Purple Coins"). As Spring Mario, Mario is able to jump higher but cannot run orspin. Instead, he perpetually bounces off the ground, making him harder to control and more prone to falling off edges or into hazardous places. Using this form, Mario is able to bounce very high to reach hidden items and areas by pressing
upon touching the ground. He is also granted the ability to climb very steep inclines in a slinky-like fashion, and retains hisGround Pound as well, although the ground-pound will not stop him from bouncing, with the plumber immediately bouncing upon striking the ground. If Mario takes damage, touches water, or enters aLaunch Star orSling Star, the form is lost.
InSuper Mario Galaxy 2, the Spring Mario form returns, behaving the same as it does in the previous game and making its only appearance in the "Spring into the Chompworks" mission ofChompworks Galaxy.
Many of the locations Spring Mario is intended to be used can be circumnavigated via sequences ofSomersaults,Wall Jumps, and spins (although using Spring Mario is recommended due to the latter strategy being more difficult); in fact, it is possible to collect everyPower Star (includingGreen Stars) inSuper Mario Galaxy 2 without once making use of Spring Mario.
InWario Land II,Wario Land 3 andWario Land 4,Wario possesses a similar form known asBouncy Wario.

Use the fun Mario transformation to jump higher than ever before - and jump jump everywhere for that matter (Mario can't run as Spring Mario). Using the Spring Mushroom, Mario will be able to find hidden items in the air and climb steep levels with ease.
