ASpring Ball[1][2] (also formatted asspring ball),[3][4] also referred to as aBounce Arrow,[5] is an object in every game of theYoshi's Island series (Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island,Yoshi's Island DS, andYoshi's New Island) as well asYoshi's Woolly World andYoshi's Crafted World. The player canjump on top of it, then jump again to be propelled high into the air with a boosted jump. The player can jump even higher if they time the jump right when they contact the Spring Ball. Some Spring Balls can also be released byWinged Clouds. Spring Balls come in two sizes: small (also calledSmall Arrow Balls)[6] and large, which give an even stronger and higher jump boost.
In theSkelesaurus section ofSkelesaurus Wrecks inYoshi's Crafted World, the Skelesaurus can knock down Spring Balls when in pursuit of Yoshi.
Spring Balls appear inSonic Lost World in theYoshi's Island Zone DLC level, released for free to owners of theWii U version. Spring Balls replace theSprings found in the normal levels ofSonic Lost World.[7]
