Spoiled Rotten is the firstboss ofWario Land 4 that guards theEntry Passage. It resembles a large round eggplant creature and has youthful facial features with a sleepy expression, wears sneakers and carries a doll. Spoiled Rotten is faced off against right after the first level, theHall of Hieroglyphs. The time given to defeat the boss varies on thegame mode: In Normal mode, the time limit is 1:00, in Hard mode, it is 0:30, and in S-Hard mode, it is 0:15. Spoiled Rotten is accompanied by twoEggplant Warriors. Spoiled Rotten can be attacked from Warioramming its body. After seven, Spoiled Rotten turns savage, with large, veinous eyes and a wide mouth filled with fangs. In this state, Wario cannot hit it from the front, as this will cause damage to him. Instead, Wario must jump over the boss and hit it in the back. Defeating Spoiled Rotten unlocks access to any of the four mainPassages. Unlike the other bosses, Spoiled Rotten cannot be fought again after being defeated. Additionally, the last four usable items from theItem Shop are not available to be purchased against Spoiled Rotten.
The arena appears to be some kind of kitchen, with an oven and well-stocked shelves of food. There is also a television with aNintendo GameCube on the left side of the field.
Spoiled Rotten is the only boss in the game that does not appear to be a ghost.
Names in other languages[edit]
The name "Spoiled Rotten" comes from a description for children who are very selfish and demanding due to being undisciplined, tying in with its youthful appearance. Being an eggplant, it also refers to spoiled and rotten fruit.
