Spinning Logs are a special type ofplatform found inSuper Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and itsreissue,Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3. These platforms are pink logs that stay still for a while and then start spinning wildly. While one is spinning, it can throw aYoshi in many directions, depending on how he touches it. This acts as a double-edged sword, as it could give the Yoshi a boost to hisFlutter Jump or send him falling into apit. This works similarly to one of the types ofRotary Lifts fromSuper Mario Bros. 3.
