Spinia,Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door

Spinias are green creatures made of thin, papery discs inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and itsNintendo Switch remake. They commonly appear inRogueport Underground prior to completing Chapter 5 alongside their later-found spiked version calledSpanias. As their name suggests, they and their attacks are derived from "spinner". Spinias and Spanias are also found in floors 1-10 of thePit of 100 Trials, which also features the very powerfulSpunias. Two Spinias also appear in Chapter 3 where they help make upThe Destructors, aGlitz Pit team who served as a replacement forBandy Andy who had "retired". However, The Destructors exit the rankings when Bandy Andy comes back and takes their place.

Unused sprite from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door
The unused Spinia with a hamburger bun.
  • Unused data reveals a hamburger-themed Spinia variant that was supposedly going to be a partner ofLuigi, as its file follows the same naming format as other partners. Its file is also shared with arainbow-colored Spania.[12]
  • In the Tattle Log of theNintendo GameCube version ofPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, there is no space in between "HP" and "3" for Spinia.
