ASpiky Parabuzzy, also shortened toS. Parabuzzy, is a combination of the traits ofPara-Beetles andSpike Tops, being able to fly and being immune to jumps and fire.

Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door[edit]
InPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and itsNintendo Switch remake, they are mainly seen in the underground rooms inRiverside Station and midway through thePit of 100 Trials, at around floors 41-49. Since they have both wings and a spiked shell, they cannot be jumped on or attacked with hammers; due to them being a type of Buzzy Beetle, fire and explosion attacks cannot hurt them.Mario needs aSpike Shield, aHammer Throwbadge, or an item to attack them safely, as well as having a partner who can attack air enemies without touching the spike. Spiky Parabuzzies lose their wings when stomped with Spike Shield equipped, causing them to become regular Spike Tops.
Super Paper Mario[edit]
InSuper Paper Mario, Spiky Parabuzzies appear on theOverthere Stair and inCastle Bleck. They often fly up and down, trying to block Mario's path near a pit. If the player usesCarrie, however, they can step on them without getting hurt.

Super Mario Maker /Super Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS[edit]
Spiky Parabuzzies appear inSuper Mario Maker andSuper Mario Maker for Nintendo 3DS, where they can be produced by giving aSpike Top wings. If wings are applied, they will fly forward, gently bobbing up and down. Jumping on them will cause damage, unless the playerspin jumps on it, is using aGoomba's Shoe or ridingYoshi; the latter two can harmlessly ride the Spiky Parabuzzy, making it act like a Para-Beetle, while spin jumping on it will always make it recoil ever so slightly downward. Also, like their wingless counterparts, Spiky Parabuzzies with blue shells will move much faster than those with red shells. Depending on the style, they may or may not have visible limbs.
Super Mario Maker 2[edit]
InSuper Mario Maker 2, Spiky Parabuzzies appear with the same properties as in the predecessor, and are available in all styles except theSuper Mario 3D World style.Dry Bones Shells are added as another way to harmlessly ride them.
