InSuper Mario 3D Land, Spike Eels appear only in underwater tropicallevels, notably inWorld 3-2,World 7-1, andSpecial 2-2. Spike Eels stay in holes and swim inMario's (orLuigi's) way, likeUnagi andGringills. They take 15 hits to defeat with theFire Flower orBoomerang Flower, but can be defeated in a single hit with invincibility or by transforming intoStatue Mario and crushing them. They can also be attacked from the front or behind.
