Spider Webs,[1] or simplywebs,[2] appear in severalSuper Mario games, being commonly seen around spider-like enemies likeScuttlebugs or in spooky locations. In many instances, they are interactive, with players being able toclimb or destroy them.

Green House[edit]
Spider webs appear inGreen House, from which spiders climb down towards the flowers.
Donkey Kong Country /Donkey Kong Land series[edit]
Spider webs in theDonkey Kong Country andDonkey Kong Land series can be created bySquitter to attack enemeies with and create temporary web platforms to stand on.
Wario World[edit]
A giant web takes up the center of the stage duringSpideraticus' boss fight inWario World. He attacksWario while standing on this web. Wario can walk on the web, but he cannot jump from it, preventing him from easily mounting Spideraticus in order toGround Pound it.
Mario Party 7[edit]
Webs appear in theSpider Stomp minigame ofMario Party 7. They have to be shot at to be destroyed so that players can progress in theminigame. Webs also appear as hazards shot by the Scuttle Bugs, temporarily stunning the target on contact.
Super Mario series[edit]
Super Mario Galaxy[edit]
A giant web appears in the missionTarantox's Tangled Web ofSuper Mario Galaxy.Tarantox is fought on this giant web, and on its edges areSling Pods that must be used to attack Tarantox.Coins are also stuck to the web and they can be freed by hovering theStar Pointer over them.
New Super Mario Bros. 2[edit]
Webs appear inNew Super Mario Bros. 2. These webs can be climbed much like afence, the only difference being that they disappear for roughly a second after the player lets go of them before reappearing. They only appear inWorld 3-3 andWorld

Ghost House, where they are fairly common.
Paper Mario series[edit]
Paper Mario: Sticker Star[edit]

Webs inPaper Mario: Sticker Star appear mainly inWorld 3. Mario first encounters them atRustle Burrow. When he tries to approach aWiggler Segment, the web underneath it breaks and causes it to fall into the hole. After Mario jumps into the hole, he is bounced by several webs on the way down, causing him to lose all of hisstickers andKersti in the process. In the burrow, the Wiggler Segment andComet Piece are stuck behind giant webs. The webs can be broken with Mario'shammer. During the fight with theBig Scuttlebug, it makes a web that traps Mario if he uses a jump attack on it. It must be destroyed using other types of stickers. To reach and free Kersti, Mario must repeatedly jump on webs to break them.
AtTree Branch Trail, a Wiggler Segment is stuck to a web. This web can also be broken with the hammer. One web is suspended over a pool ofpoison and another is found on a path between two trees. They can be broken with jumps.
Paper Mario: The Origami King[edit]
InPaper Mario: The Origami King, spider webs are found throughout theTemple of Shrooms. Many of them are trapping faceless Toads who must be rescued. Scuttlebugs also attack Mario by shooting balls of webbing at him.
Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon[edit]
Webs inLuigi's Mansion: Dark Moon are environmental objects on which collectibles likeGold Bars can sometimes be either stuck on or behind. Webs in the missionsSticky Situation andConfront the Source have to be burnt byLuigi as part of the objective.
Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam[edit]
Webs inMario & Luigi: Paper Jam can be found inGloomy Woods.Paper Mario can cross them to reach blocks only he can hit. In a cave inTwinsy Tropics, webs block paths in a timed area. They can bedashed through, with ones that have more threads taking longer to break. As such, the party needs to choose the paths with the thinnest respective web.
Mario Kart Tour[edit]
Spider Webs inMario Kart Tour are minor obstacles inPiranha Plant Pipeline and its R variant. In both variants, they are scattered in the red and blue pipelines, facing oncoming drivers. They slow drivers down on contact while very briefly covering their view with a film of silk, similarly to howBloopers andInky Piranha Plants cover a driver's view with ink. Spider Webs can be destroyed by driving into them or throwing an item at them, giving bonus points in the process.
