Special 4-1 is the first level ofSpecial 4 inSuper Mario 3D Land.

Layout[edit]

The player starts out on a platform with aRoulette Block next to them, then the player moves onto anElevator that starts to move upwards. Soon threeGoombas drop down, followed shortly after by threeTail Goombas. The Elevator then move sideways and under a narrow platform with a? Block that contains multiplecoins on it. The Elevator then starts to rise again, and soon aKoopa Troopa and twoGoomba Towers drop down before the Elevator starts to move sideways again and under another narrow platform that has a ? Block on it that contains aPoison Mushroom. The platform then starts to rise again, and threeFire Piranha Plants come into view, with aCoin Coffer also dropping down. The bottom left part of the Elevator and the part above then fall down, as does the top right section of the Elevator with the part below it. After the Fire Piranha Plants, threeBob-ombs drop down, and after they blow up, somespiked balls are spawned from black hole-like holes. Shortly after, the sides of the Elevator fall away. The Elevator then rises through somespikes and twoProngos drop down, soon followed by another two Prongos. After this, the top and bottom sections of the Elevator fall away and shortly afterwards threeMagikoopas spawn; their attacks must be dodged three times before the Elevator reaches aWarp Box, which leads to the final area. Here, the player must use three Elevators to reach the top of theGoal Pole.

Notes[edit]

  • If the player stands on the absolute edge, the player will not enter the trigger, which signals the game to spawn the enemies. This can continue all the way up until the Fire Piranha Plants appear midway through the stage. This means that, due to this glitch, half of the stage can be played without having to deal with enemies.[1]
