Special 3 is the eleventh world and the third special world inSuper Mario 3D Land. The level takes place in an indigo, flowery field at night with an aurora and several plateaus and hills faintly visible in the background. It is unlocked by completingSpecial 2-Airship. The world is one of the few that lacks a boss at the end. The world contains six levels and aMystery Box. AlongsideSpecial 2, Special 3 lacks anyCosmic Clone levels.

Levels[edit]

	Special 3-1	An athletic level which extensively features pendulousLifts. The second original level of the Special Worlds.
	Special 3-2	A level similar to World 4-3 that is structured slightly differently, but overall follows the same path.
	Special 3-3	A harder version of World 7-3 with the time set to 30 seconds. Possesses a daytime setting and the athletic theme is replaced with the overworld theme.
	Special 3-4	A harder version of World 7-2 with more aggressive obstacles and aDonut Block section.
	Special 3-5	A harder version of World 6-4 with theBeep Blocks going one by one. A different music track plays to accompany this change.
	Special 3-Airship	A harder version of World 2-Airship that autoscrolls much faster. There is no boss. Requires 140Star Medals to be unlocked.
