TheSpace Warrior Mask is aUseful Item inPaper Mario: The Origami King. It is apapier-mâché mask in the shape ofSamus's helmet, found in the staff room ofShogun Studios alongside theJungle King Mask andGoomba Mask. When equipped, sound effects and music from theMetroid game play as Mario imitates Samus's Arm Cannon.
In order to sneak intoBig Sho' Theater, Mario is prompted to use one of the masks and disguise as aPaper Macho Soldier. If the Space Warrior Mask is chosen, he is quickly chased out andOlivia andBob-omb suggest he use a different item. When Olivia is sad over Bob-omb's death inBreezy Tunnel, Mario can use the Space Warrior Mask and imitate Samus's Arm Cannon again, although she remains silent. In both cases, the Goomba Mask must be used instead.
In the German translation, Bob-omb says that he would love to try the arm cannon in the park on "Samustag", playing on Samus's name and the German word for "Saturday", "Samstag". In the Dutch version, he alludes to Samus's Morph Ball ability, saying, "Is he pretending to shoot fire beams? Pretty cool, but I don't know if that will get us much further... Well, maybe this will get the ball rolling." In the Spanish translations, he instead says that the helmet does not fit Mario's style, because as he is not "some kind of intergalactic warrior."
