Snowy Branches[1] are obstacles inNew Super Mario Bros. They consist of snow that hangs on a branch and falls once the player character walks underneath. Though the snow does not damage the player character, it does trap him for a moment, leaving him vulnerable to enemy attacks. The player character can escape the snow by pressing the jump button or simply not stand beneath the branch when the snow falls. Thirteen Snowy Branches appear in the game, all of them in the snow-themedWorld 5-1.
