ASnippys[1] (alternately pluralizedSnippies),[2] originally known asSnaps,[3] areenemies inDonkey Kong Country Returns and itsNintendo 3DS andNintendo Switch ports. These orangecrabs can be defeated using any attack method, and they have stronger variants known asPinchlys.

Donkey Kong Country Returns /Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D /Donkey Kong Country Returns HD[edit]
Snippys appear mostly in levels of theBeach world, in addition toMast Blast andTippy Shippy. Snippys move from side to side and can only hurtDonkey Kong orDiddy Kong if they come in contact with them. They also have a tendency to chase theKongs, changing direction towards them when avoided. Snippys can be defeated with ajump, aroll attack or by throwing abarrel at them.
Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze[edit]
A Snippys makes a minor appearance on the title screen ofDonkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, where it wanders around on the beach. In apiece of concept artworkMedia:Walruses.png from the game, a Snippys-looking crab with large pincers is seen mounted on a weapon-like stick carried by an enemy called "Krob, the Konqueror".

- Prima's Official Strategy Guide:These two creatures can often be found near the sea. The yellow Snaps are easily defeated by jumping on top of them. Pinchlys are a bit tougher. You must jump on top of them to get them to raise their claws, then pound the ground to flip them upside down. Now you can jump on their unprotected underside to knock them out.[3]
