Snaptors are enemies that appear inMario & Luigi: Brothership. They are red birds that have plier-like beaks, yellow slit eyes, and coil necks. In addition to their role as common enemies, Snaptors frequently abduct citizens ofConcordia and take them to work forZokket. Snaptors are also used as transport byTen andShun;Ecks does not ride them due to his natural flight abilities.[1] Mario and Luigi encounter them commonly onDesolatt Island,Merrygo Island,Minmin Islet,Lottacoins Island, and during the side questInvestigate the Abductions! onRumbla Island.[2] In the field, Snaptors swoop at anyone in their territory, but fly around aimlessly when not disturbed. A bigger Snaptor called theMega Snaptor serves as a boss on Lottacoins Island, and there are also variants infused withGlohm.
Despite being affiliated with Zokket, Snaptors do not take critical damage from the Anti-Zokket Battle Plug and do not count towards the Zokket Buster challenge. This could be because they are not true Zok Troopers, due to not resembling plugs.
Battle[edit]
Snaptors have three different ways of attacking. Their first attack is by stretching their necks atMario orLuigi to peck at them, which can be countered with a hammer. If the Snaptor cackles a bit before this attack, they will hit the brother they were not aiming for. Their second attack involves them flying across the screen before snatching one of the brothers and throwing him towards the other. If the captured brother visually panics as they are snatched and cries out before the Snaptor returns, the remaining brother must carefully jump over them to avoid damaging them with a stomp, or being damaged by the thrown brother. Otherwise, the remaining brother must stomp the Snaptor as it dives, to prevent both brothers from taking damage.[3] A third attack involves a Snaptor flying off-screen then coming back to drop a rock that rolls across the ground and must be jumped over - occasionally aSpikely will appear instead, which will bounce over the bro and requires not jumping to dodge it. Sometimes the Spikely will join the battle after the attack ends.
Since the Snaptor can fly, it cannot be hit by ground-based weaponry like thehammer.
