Slide Kick
TheSlide Kick[1][2][3] is a recurring move generally used byMario. It is first usable by the player characters inSuper Mario 64 andSuper Mario 64 DS, and it can be performed by firstrunning, then holding down thecrouch button, and lastly pressing the attack button. If the action is done correctly, the character beginssliding on the ground with his foot outstretched, damaging enemies in the way. InSuper Mario 64 DS,Yoshi's Slide Kick is weaker, since he is generally weaker than the other characters, and enemies such asBoos are impervious to the attack.
The Slide Kick also appears as Mario andDr. Mario's dash attack in theSuper Smash Bros. installments prior toSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate.
Princess Peach can also use a similar move inSuper Princess Peach calledSlide, by simply crouching while dashing, resulting in a slide with a flurry of kicks. This helps her dodge obstacles where it can harm her when she stands, or slide under small spaces, and also defeat enemies.
