Sinking the Airships is the only mission ofBowser Jr.'s Airship Armada inSuper Mario Galaxy and itsNintendo Switchport. The mission's objective is to rescue theGrand Star fromBowser Jr.
Layout[edit]
The player starts on anAirship with severalElectrogoombas and acannon. The player has to make use of the various cannons on the Airships to travel between them, using anyPull Stars if necessary. After the third Airship, the player will find a platform that will begin moving once they activate theLever Switch. The platform will travel between three Airships and stop at a boardwalk at the end, which leads into the final Airship and the fight with Bowser Jr.
Bowser Jr. will remain on his Airship throughout the battle, shootingcannonballs andBullet Bills atMario. On the Airship Mario is standing on are severalKoopa Troopas Mario can jump on to grab theirshell. Throwing the shell at Bowser Jr. will deal damage to him and make him change his tactic. After attacking him twice,Magikoopas will join in the fight. Damaging the Airship three times will cause Bowser Jr. to turn his Airship to face the player, and theBowser face on the front will start firing threefireballs, in addition to the Bullet Bills and Magikoopas from the previous phases. Damaging the Airship two more times will cause Bowser Jr. to abandon his Airship as it explodes, leaving behind the Grand Star.
