New Super Mario Bros.[edit]
Sinking and Rising Mushrooms first appear inNew Super Mario Bros. They are platforms that, when stood on, either rise or fall a certain length depending on their color; yellow-and-orange ones fall, whereas orange-and-red ones rise. They appear only inWorld 5-4, though agreen platform that acts identically appears during the fight againstMega Goomba.
New Super Mario Bros. 2[edit]
Sinking and Rising Mushrooms are objects inNew Super Mario Bros. 2. They show the same behavior as inNew Super Mario Bros., albeit with different color schemes; light-blue ones fall, whereas pink ones rise (matchinggravity fields fromSuper Mario Galaxy). They also now feature arrow patterns indicating their direction. They appear inWorld 5-4 and thethird level of theGold Mushroom Pack.
Super Mario Odyssey[edit]
An 8-bit version of the Sinking Mushroom appears inSuper Mario Odyssey, inside the folding screen bonus area inBowser's Kingdom with the same behavior as inNew Super Mario Bros. and the same color scheme as Mushroom Platforms inSuper Mario Bros.
