"Simian Segue",[1][2] also known as "THE MAP PAGE",[3] is a musical theme composed byEveline Fischer forDonkey Kong Country, where it plays in the world map screen. This theme has since been used and rearranged for various entries in theDonkey Kong franchise, typically used for the world maps.

Donkey Kong Country is the theme's first appearance.
In theGame Boy Color remake ofDonkey Kong Country, achiptune arrangement of "Simian Segue" plays in the world map, just like in the original game.
In theGame Boy Advance remake ofDonkey Kong Country, an arrangement of "Simian Segue" plays in the world map, just like in the original game. In the game's hidden Sound Player, it is erroneously titled "DK Island Swing".

Donkey Kong Country Returns[edit]
Donkey Kong Country Returns, as well as itsNintendo 3DS port,Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, and itsNintendo Switch port,Donkey Kong Country Returns HD, feature several arrangements of "Simian Segue", one for each world's map, including theGolden Temple in the original, as well as one for viewingDonkey Kong Island as a whole. TheJungle variation returns inTetris 99, where it plays in the losing results screen while theDonkey Kong Country Returns HD theme is in use.

InDonkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze and itsNintendo Switch port ofthe same name, an arrangement of "Simian Segue" plays in the world map. Unlike inDonkey Kong Country Returns, the theme is shared across each world, much like in the originalDonkey Kong Country.

In theDonkey Kong Adventure DLC campaign forMario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle, a brief arrangement of "Simian Segue" plays as a jingle whenever the player completes a puzzle.

InSuper Smash Bros. Brawl, a medley of "Simian Segue" and "Bonus Room Blitz", titled after their Japanese soundtrack names, "The Map Page / Bonus Level", can play in theRumble Falls stage. It reappears inSuper Smash Bros. Ultimate, where it can play in anySuper Smash Bros.-series andDonkey Kong-series stage. It also plays in the DK Island map in World of Light, which is a recreation ofKongo Jungle fromDonkey Kong Country.
Super Smash Bros. Ultimate also contains a big-band medley arrangement of "Simian Segue" and "Bonus Room Blitz", titled after the two themes' Japanese names, "The Map Page / Bonus Level", can play in anySuper Smash Bros.-series andDonkey Kong-series stage. It also played in the "Items" section of the August 2018Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Direct. This arrangement was arranged by Hiroshi Yamaguchi, with Naofumi Harada performing on guitar. Yamaguchi chose to arrange these tracks not only because of his memories of playingDonkey Kong Country with his sister when he was in junior high school, but also to attempt a new genre of music that he would not normally be able to work on atPlatinumGames.[4]
