Shroob mushroom

Shroob mushrooms are light-purplemushrooms with white spots that appear inMario & Luigi: Partners in Time. TheShroobs have the ability to fire purple energy bolts from theirsaucers that turn whatever they hit into Shroob mushrooms;Toadiko,Toadbert,Kylie Koopa, andBaby Bowser are all shown to suffer this fate. Characters who turn into Shroob mushrooms are said to beShroobified.[1] These victims are all reverted whenProfessor E. Gadd spreads a baby tear-like liquid from theHydrogush 4000 across the past-eraMushroom Kingdom (in a process thatStuffwell describes as being able tore-Toadify them,[2] even if not all of them areToads). Some Shroobs are also shown to turn into these purple mushrooms when defeated, such as theElder Princess Shroob. WhenPrincess Shroob is disguised asPrincess Peach, she has a Shroob mushroom attached to her face. Shroob mushrooms have been rarely able to speak, such as after the Elder Princess Shroob gets defeated. Shroob mushrooms of various shapes and sizes are also seen growing in areas that are controlled by the Shroobs, such as the conqueredToad Town andShroob Castle. These mushrooms have pink spots instead of white ones.
InSuper Mario-kun, both princesses are shrunk into two Shroob mushrooms by the babies' tears, though their eyes are retained and they are still able to talk in this form. Despite this, only the Elder Princess Shroob's mushroom is present in the next chapter.
