TheShell Stones are five special stones found inPaper Mario: The Origami King. They are mainly located inOverlook Mountain and are used to open the doorway to theEarth Vellumental Temple.

Locations[edit]

• The Purple Shell Stone is still in place, but anorigamiShy Guy, which Mario must battle, is seen trying to steal it.
• The Green Shell Stone is located at an auction run by aMonty Mole auctioneer near the shiny red Warp Pipe, with threeKoopa Troopas already in attendance. Initially, the Monty Mole auctions the Stone for 10,000coins, but Mario can lower the price to 300 coins before the Koopas pool in to buy it, at which point Mario must purchase it from them for 1,500 coins.
• The Yellow Shell Stone is near the secondSave Block. Mario must fight a nearby origamiGoomba that is hiding in a moving bush, which activates aMagic Circle. He then must peel off the wall in front to find aDry Bones holding the Shell Stone.
• The Blue Shell Stone is also near the second Save Block. Mario must head right and go down a slope. There, aKoopa Troopa will teach Mario how to fish. When he reels in a large origamiCheep Cheep, he must defeat it to obtain the Shell Stone.
• The Red Shell Stone is near the top of the mountain, left of the tower, being kicked around by threePaper Macho Shy Guys like a soccer ball. Mario must knock one of them down and pick up the Shell Stone while it is stunned after leading the stone to be kicked at its position.
