Shell Shot is one of the default moves available toParakarry, inPaper Mario and can be performed at the cost of 3FP. Shell Shot can be used against any foe, regardless of location.

TheAction Command for Shell Shot requires the player to tilt the Control Stick to the left, and release it when the targeting cursor is lined up with the enemy, similar toYoshi's egg toss inSuper Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island andits sequel. If the player releases the stick at the wrong time, the attack will miss completely. Every enemy has a unique hitbox used for this attack as well as forSpiny Flip.

InPaper Mario: The Origami King, Shell Shot can be used by various shelled enemies:Koopa Troopas,Spinies, andSpike Tops. There are also stronger group variants calledGroup Shell Shot andStacked Shell Shot, the latter exclusive to Buzzy Beetles. Koopa Troopas do 4-6 damage, Spinies do 7 damage, Buzzy Beetles do 8 damage, and Spike Tops do 17 damage.Koopa Paratroopas use a move calledFlyin' Shell Shot that deals 10-13 damage.
