Shadow Clones are characters that appear exclusively in the Legends Mode ofMario & Sonic at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. When a team is formed, the shadows of the characters detach from their bodies and transform into purple, shadowy versions of the original characters, with glowing light blue eyes. Despite their dark, eerie appearance, the Shadow Clones are not evil;[citation needed] they simply serve as rivals to the player characters in various sport events.
