Secret Course 5[1] is the second secret level of thePumpkin Zone inSuper Mario Land 2: 6 Golden Coins. To unlock this level, the player must find the secret exit inPumpkin Zone Level 3. Once this level is cleared,Boos appear over the gravestones on the map. The level heavily featuresMushroom Platforms, and is the only level in the game to feature them with their typical design.
There are tenextra lives the player can earn in this level. First, there is a? Block containing aFire Flower. Then there are three stacks offiery blocksMario can break to get three 1-Ups. There are few enemies which appear throughout this course, includingGoombas andKoopa Troopas. Up next are three rows of fiery blocks where two more extra lives can be found. Mario must then make it across falling platforms, with a ? Block which contains another Fire Flower nearby.
There is then a long row of fiery blocks with Goombas on it. There are three extra lives here which can be found in the seventh, twentieth, and twenty-seventh blocks. After that is an enclosed area where a1-Up Heart can be found inside a ? Block. There is then one last 1-Up Heart inside a ? Block, followed by the door Mario must enter to complete the level.
