Search for the Toad Brigade Captain is the first mission of theFluffy Bluff Galaxy inSuper Mario Galaxy 2 and itsNintendo Switchport. This mission introduces theCloud Flower power-up as well as the game's recurring character,The Chimp.

Layout[edit]

The player begins on theCloud Across Valley Planet in a small field surrounded by water. Beyond the bridge is a Cloud Flower the player can use to get over a ledge and other obstacles, though the player will lose the power-up if they touch water. Using the power-up, the player can cross clouds and create some of their own to climb over a tall ledge. Afterward, the player can eitherLong Jump between the clouds or create their own clouds to traverse the gaps and reach theToad Brigade member on the other side. Then byWall Jumping up the walls in the cliff, the player can reach aLaunch Star that will send them to theWater Across Sphere Planet. Here, the player needs to collect fiveStar Chips to form a Launch Star, while also avoiding theCosmic Clones that appear once the player steps off the platform they landed on.

The Launch Star will take the player to the final planet, theCloud Climb Mountain Planet. Here, the player needs to use the Cloud Flower to cross obstacles and scale the mountain, or use theBomps as platforms as well. At the top of the first wall, the player can use a romp swing to reach the top of the large tree, where they will find theToad Brigade Captain. He will explain thatsome monkey ran off with thePower Star to the mountain nearby. Using clouds to reach the mountain peak and talking to The Chimp will have him reward the player with the Power Star.
