| Effect | AllowsMario to launch himself upward |
TheRocket Nozzle is one ofFLUDD's nozzles inSuper Mario Sunshine. Using it launchesMario upward after charging for a brief period. It does not launch Mario while he isswimming, so he mustjump out right before he is launched if there is no land near him. Using the Rocket Nozzle launches Mario high enough to perform powerfulGround Pounds that can destroy certain objects with a flame icon on them, including thestone slab on top of theDelfino Plaza lighthouse or the edges ofBowser's tub during thefinal battle. The Rocket Nozzle can be obtained from rednozzle boxes. However, they are not available at the start of the game, and the boxes are transparent and intangible. To make the box in Delfino Plaza active, Mario must collect 30Shine Sprites, after whichShadow Mario will be seen holding the nozzle in Delfino Plaza. Chasing him down unlocks the Rocket Nozzle for use in Delfino Plaza. In levels featuring them, a hard-to-reach red nozzle box appears solid while any others are transparent; collecting the nozzle from the solid one permanently activates all the others for the level, even in other episodes. Obtaining the Rocket Nozzle replaces theHover Nozzle orTurbo Nozzle if Mario had either of them previously.
