Rhomps[1] are a species related toThwomps that appear inSuper Mario Galaxy 2 and itsNintendo Switchport asenemies. They are exclusively encountered in theSlipsand Galaxy's first mission, "Squizzard's Sandy Sinkhole". 18 Rhomps appear in the sand slide area, where they attempt to flattenMario orLuigi, causing him to lose a life instantly. Rhomps resemble tube-shaped stones with smiley faces and a circular stone with square designs on it attached to each side. While similar toSpindels in both design and behavior, Rhomps have several differentiating features, such as smooth stone skin and no teeth or eyebrows. A Rhomp's face is very similar to that of aGrumblump.
