"Red Streamer Battle"[1] is a musical theme composed for battles inPaper Mario: The Origami King. It is an upbeat track that incorporates jazz, and is heard when it isMario's turn to attack enemies during battles inWhispering Woods,Toad Town,Graffiti Underground,Picnic Road, andOverlook Mountain. A quieter variant that removes the main melody, named "Red Streamer Battle - Thinking", plays when the player is moving the rings in battle, preluding and seamlessly changing to "Red Streamer Battle" once the rings are placed. Both tracks are found in the Red Streamer section of theMusée Champignon's Sound Gallery.

ThroughoutPaper Mario: The Origami King, "Red Streamer Battle" is rearranged numerous times for each region'sstreamer. Parts of it are also heard in the game'scredits theme.

Battle Lab - Ring Trainer[edit]

A unique rearrangement can be heard when using the Ring Trainer machine in theBattle Lab. It is titled "Battle Lab - Ring Trainer"[2] in theNintendo Music app. Unlike the other arrangements, this one is not present in the Sound Gallery, nor does it have a Thinking variation. It is a synthesized track meant to resemble 80s and 90s arcade games.

Vellumental Area Battle[edit]

When battling enemies in theEarth Vellumental Temple,Water Vellumental Shrine,Fire Vellumental Cave,Ice Vellumental Mountain, andSea Tower, a rearrangement of "Red Streamer Battle", titled "Vellumental Area Battle" plays. Its main instrument is the erhu, and uses other traditionally similar instruments. When moving rings in battle, a variant of this theme, named "Vellumental Area Battle - Thinking", plays instead. It removes the main melody while adding a backbeat. Both tracks are found in the Red Streamer section of the Musée Champignon's Sound Gallery.

When battling enemies inAutumn Mountain andChestnut Valley, an arrangement titled "Autumn Mountain Battle" plays. It is similarly upbeat to the original while using traditional Chinese instruments. When moving rings in battle, a variant named "Autumn Mountain Battle - Thinking" plays, removing the main melody and adding a backbeat. Both tracks are found in the Blue Streamer section of the Musée Champignon's Sound Gallery.

When battling enemies inShogun Studios, another arrangement plays, titled "Blue Streamer Battle". It uses mainly traditional Japanese instruments, and is slightly calmer than the original. When moving rings in battle, a variant named "Blue Streamer Battle - Thinking" plays, removing the main melody. Both tracks are found in the Blue Streamer section of the Musée Champignon's Sound Gallery.

Unsettling Area Battle[edit]

When enemies are fought inOverlook Tower,[3]The Princess Peach,Bonehead Island, andBowser's Castle, the rearrangement titled "Unsettling Area Battle" plays. It is a frenetic theme that incorporates a melodica as well as rock. A muted variant of this theme, titled "Unsettling Area Battle - Thinking", plays while moving rings, which removes the main melody and introduces a backbeat. Both tracks are found in the Purple Streamer section of the Musée Champignon's Sound Gallery.

The final rearrangement, titled "Green Streamer Battle", plays during battles inShangri-Spa and its springs, including theSpring of Jungle Mist. Uniquely, it incorporates a choir as well as aerophone woodwind instruments. Its variant, titled "Green Streamer Battle - Thinking" plays when moving rings in battle. It removes the woodwinds from the main arrangement. Both tracks are found in the Green Streamer section of the Musée Champignon's Sound Gallery.
