Thered Power Star[1] is anitem introduced inSuper Mario Galaxy and itsNintendo Switchport. It is a unique type ofPower Star located only in theGateway Galaxy afterMario enters theGate in theComet Observatory. There, Mario findsRosalina as well as a redLuma who allows him to useRed Stars to becomeFlying Mario so he can collect 100Purple Coins for the red Power Star. After collecting the red Power Star, Mario has access to Red Stars in the Comet Observatory and canfly around the place at his leisure.
The texture for the red Power Star is present in the files forSuper Mario Galaxy 2. InSuper Mario 64, a red-colored star appears on the Title Screen in some parts ofMario's face's animations.
