New Super Mario Bros. U levels

Red-Hot Elevator Ride, orPeach's Castle-The Icon of Princess Peach's Castle from New Super Mario Bros. Wii. is the penultimate course ofPeach's Castle inNew Super Mario Bros. U. Despite being labeled as a castle, it is completely vertical and takes place on an elevator, similar toWorld 7-2 inNew Super Mario Bros. (the player needs to step on the sides to go left or right and the middle to go up) andWorld 7-Tower inNew Super Mario Bros. Wii. The level is also one of the two castle levels with no boss, the other beingPendulum Castle; likewise, the end-of-levelfortress seen behind theflagpole is missing, making it the only level in the game with this distinction.

This course is used for theChallenge Mode coursesElevator Out of Service andExpress Elevator.

Layout[edit]

The level begins in a area with aGoomba, a? Block containing a power-up, and risinglava. AWarp Pipe is found, leading to the next area. The second area is a vertical level, similar toTowers, with an elevator platform above lava that rises. The elevator can only hold one other enemy or object, so if acoin, Goomba, orBob-omb lands on it, the elevator stops. Coins on parachutes are found, along withBowser Stunners. Some yellow Warp Pipes that generate Goombas are also found. More Bowser Stunners are found, followed by a rows ofBrick Blocks blocking the elevator's path, along with aP Switch that turns them into coins. More coins on parachutes andParabombs are found. More Bowser Stunners are found, along with aRed Ring. AWarp Door is located at the top of the area, leading to theGoal Pole.
