Reachers are skeletal ghosts who inhabit theSunken Ship in the gameSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars andits remake. They resemble large, sad, humanoid skeletons whose bodies are obscured by tombstones. Reachers attack by reaching towards a party member (hence the name) with their long skeletal arms. They can also attack by hurling a large bone (similar toDry Bones) or by singingElegy, which prevents a party member from using magic.

Like most powerful enemies inSuper Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, only one Reacher appears at a time in battle. Reachers are aided by other ghouls in combat likeGreapers.

Anunused enemy that appears in the game's programming seems to be a relative of a Reacher, but depicted with a blue tombstone instead. This lookalike is known as Juju. It was stronger and had a better variety of special attacks such asSilver Bullet andKnock Out, and itsthought is 'K-9 is after my Bones!'.

The original artwork for Reacher has blue eyes, while in the game, it has green eyes.

In the Japanese version of the remake, and the English translation thereof, Reacher's thought has been switched withStraw Head's from the original game. This error is fixed in the 1.0.1 version patch.
