InPaper Mario, it is found atMt. Rugged, on a ledge reachable withParakarry. InPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, it is found inBoggly Woods, in a red? Block nearFlurrie's house, can be bought fromPianta Parlor for sixty-seven Pianta Tokens after getting thePlatinum Card, and rarely dropped byParabuzzies,Spiky Parabuzzies,Clefts, andMoon Clefts. If equipped byMario, he gains the ability to use the Quake Hammer move using hishammer for twoFP (three inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door). Using the attack, it releases a shockwave that damages all enemies on the ground and on the ceiling while leaving flying ones unaffected.

InPaper Mario, the move has stronger variants in the form ofPower Quake andMega Quake; inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, Mario can achieve the same effect by equipping additional copies of the badge, each increasing the power of the Quake Hammer by two and doubling its FP cost.

Besides causing damage, Quake Hammer has the following effects:

• Flips over shelled enemies (i.e.Koopa Troopa,Koopatrol,Buzzy Beetle,Spike Top,Bony Beetle,Spiny);
• Knocks enemies off the ceiling (i.e. Buzzy Beetle,Swooper,Swoopula);
• CausesStilt Guys to fall from their stilts and become normalShy Guys;
• InThe Thousand-Year Door, it will often cause parts of the stage to topple (i.e. falling stage light and bucket props), dealing 1 HP of damage to one or more characters.
