Pyro Guys, originally calledFlamer Guys,[1][2] areShy Guys that are permanently set on fire.

Yoshi's Island series[edit]
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island /Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3[edit]
Flamer Guys first appear inSuper Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island andits Game Boy Advance version. IfYoshi eats one, he gains the ability to spit three shots of fire. Flamer Guys move quicker than normal Shy-Guys. They either hop forward or run in short bursts.
Yoshi's New Island[edit]
Pyro Guys return as enemies inYoshi's New Island in the levelPyro Guy Peak behaving in the same way as they did inSuper Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Unlike previously, they are inedible, so Yoshi has to either avoid them or throw an egg at them. They also spawn fromWarp Pipes, similar to regular Shy Guys near the end of the level.
Tetris Attack[edit]
Flamer Guys serve inTetris Attack asGargantua Blargg's partner.
Paper Mario[edit]
Pyro Guys appear under their current name inPaper Mario, situated in theShy Guy's Toy Box. They run and attack twice as fast as normal Shy Guys and deal more damage. Pyro Guys are fiery enemies, and as such are weak to ice, water, and explosive attacks.

- Pyro Guys wereoriginally going to reappear inPaper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, but were cut from the game. "fire_heiho" is still present in the game's data.[13]
