Prince Florian is the ruler of theFlower Kingdom, making his debut appearance inSuper Mario Bros. Wonder. He bears the appearance of a small light-green caterpillar, somewhat resembling aWiggler. His main subjects consist ofPoplins andTalking Flowers.
His name comes from the German male given name "Florian," derived from the Latin words "florens" (blossoming) or "flos" (flower).
History[edit]
Super Mario Bros. Wonder[edit]
InSuper Mario Bros. Wonder,Bowser merges with the Flower Castle, imprisoning Prince Florian's subjects, and taking over his kingdom. Florian joins the heroes on their quest to defeat Bowser. He rides on the back of Player 1's character—in co-op mode, on the shoulder of the character wearing the crown—and is seen whenever they are idle. He enables the use ofbadges, wearing whichever is equipped atop his crown. If the playerslose all their lives, he will grant five1-Up Mushrooms.
